Newspaper: Holocaust survivor in Lincolnshire reflects on his experience

dsc06849While this Chicago Tribune Media story was supposed to simply preview a speaking event, I felt compelled to tell the story of Lincolnshire resident Steen Metz in a way that drew readers in right away, so that they could appreciate his unique experiences as a Jewish citizen living in Denmark during the Holocaust. Perhaps most interesting: Of the nearly 8,000 Jews in Denmark in 1943, Metz said he and his family were among the five percent deported to the Theresienstadt concentration camp in German-occupied Czechoslovakia.
